It’s beginning to look A Lot Like Christmas

Elko is jumping right into the Christmas spirit, and I wanted to share a few of the great local events that are coming up:

Interfaith Crèche Exhibit 

This exhibit is going on from November 30th to December 3rd at the LDS Church at 3001 North 5th Street in Elko. The highlight is dozens of nativity displays and is is open to the public from 11 am to 8 pm on all four days. Live entertainment is also scheduled for all 4 days. Winterfest

This fun annual event is hosted by Khoury’s Market on December 2nd from 4 – 8 pm at Khoury’s Market in Spring Creek. There will be food, family activities, a visit from Santa and ends with fireworks.

A Christmas Carol

The Great Basin College Theater Department is putting on Dickens’ classic tale from December 5-9th. Shows start at 7 pm and tickets are $5. This is a new interpretation of the classic and is for all ages. For more information go to gbcnv.edu/theater.

Snowflake Festival

This festival will be held in downtown Elko on December 9th starting at 12 noon. Highlights include Santa’s Workshop, the Cocoa cottage, live entertainment, food, and it ends with the Parade of Lights that starts at 5 pm. Dress warmly for this great day of Christmas Cheer. Southwind to play Christmas Music

On December 20th the local band Southwind will be playing Christmas Music at the Western Folklife Center from 6-8 pm. Free admission to this family friendly event. Come on down and join in the sing alongs! For more info: facebook@westernfolklife
