It was a great Indian Summer that settled into Northern Nevada throughout October and November, temperatures at the lake were pleasant and sights beautiful.  Then, just as the Thanksgiving holiday week arrived, the cold air blew in and winter arrived at South Lake Tahoe —  almost according to the plans of local ski resort and business owners. Then, as most of the people in this mountain town wanted, we got a healthy dose of snow.

Heavenly Mountain Resort was able to open the day before Thanksgiving because of some top-notch snow making equipment and help from old man winter.  All the skiers and boarders who hungered for some turns down some runs were very satisfied.  The Heavenly Village is also ready for all the winter travelers to visit and experience the winter wonderland they create every year. The Gondola is the front door to the mountain and it whisks people all the way up to 10,000 feet elevation.  It’s the hot spot for a Lake Tahoe vacation, especially during the snowy holiday season. https://www.skiheavenly.com/

It snows everywhere across the country, but Lake Tahoe is a special place to experience the wintry weather.  A trip through a mountain pass can be nerve wracking but can be worth  — just take it slow and be patient, and you’ll be rewarded with some of the most beautiful views in the world.

So, happy holidays and hope that 2020 will be bring joy and comfort to all.
