Every year, the same thing happens: the summer hits like a ton of bricks. You look at the calendar and realize that it’s already Independence Day and summertime is here in all its glory. Fourth of July lands on a Thursday, so that makes for a fabulous holiday weekend and the kickoff to another awesome season for fun in the sun and other wonderful thangs.
The lake level is at its capacity, and the beaches will be short on space, but the choices for entertainment at South Lake Tahoe will be seemingly endless.
The 2019 Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series at Harveys Casino is loaded with great performers and is primed to thrill all types of interests. Trevor Noah, comedian and host of The Daily Show, will hit the stage July 5th with his Loud and Clear Show, which is sure to have people laughing and smiling. Pentatonix: The World Tour, an a cappella group from Arlington, Texas, may have you remembering fond memories of the high school chorus or glee club on July 7. Then, two big country acts will be back to back, with Blake Shelton on July 12th and Miranda Lambert July 18th both belting out their pop country tunes to all their adoring fans.
The incredibly popular American Century Celebrity Golf Championship returns to Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course July 9-14. With big names like Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and comedian Kevin Nealon hitting the links in an effort to entertain the masses on the beautiful shores of Lake Tahoe. It’s always a fun event for the whole family, and it can be enjoyable to stroll around Edgewood while people are watching, eating, drinking, and taking in some good golf action.
Smaller beaches created by all the snow we received over the winter means snuggling up with strangers on crammed beaches. But one way to avoid that is to get out on the lake, either on a ski boat, kayak or a yacht. The Safari Rose is an 80-foot luxury yacht that departs from Ski Run Marina for multiple daily cruises to Emerald Bay.
And, as usual, Lake Tahoe is primed and ready for another amazing summer, dazzling people with its sheer beauty. Happy Summer!
