South Lake Tahoe Correspondence – November 2019

The leaves have fallen, days are shorter and the temperatures are low. Everything is waiting for the snow to start flying and winter to begin.  In the meantime, I had the pleasure to attend the 10th Annual South Lake Tahoe Food and Wine Festival at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and check out some of the new happenings at Harrahs’s and Harveys.

Arabian Nights was the theme this year at the Grand Market Expo, the highlight of the festival, inside the convention center at Harrah’s.  The event featured multifarious tastes of Harrah’s and Ceasars Entertainment best restaurants from around the country plus local favorites: the best wines from Napa Valley and throughout California.  A pleasant event with interactive entertainment with beautiful décor, lighting, music, dancers, and entertainers that went well in aiding the digestion of all the great food and drink.

The festival gave people a taste of the newest and hottest thing that will hit the South Shore of Lake Tahoe, Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen.  Harrah’s announced Hell’s Kitchen will be opening at the end of December of 2019, and reservations can be made now for dates in January 2020 and beyond.

Hell’s Kitchen will be located on the casino floor inside Harveys where the Sage Room sat for 70-plus years. Hell’s Kitchen should bring a new jolt to the Stateline casino corridor and bring  the party to Harveys!  Fans of the Sage Room won’t have to worry, because it has moved up to the 19th floor of Harveys and the menu and service will remain the same. Reports are it might be better, with the sprawling views of the lake and some added seafood items.
