June bicycling will be kicking into high gear this month with a variety of events and activities —
June 1st – 14th: the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition will kick off its annual Tahoe Bike Challenge in partnership with TRPA. This event challenges individuals and teams to get out of their vehicles and onto their bikes, riding to work, school or play and logging miles for prizes.
The first day of June features Tahoe City Clean Up Day from 8:30 am until noon; Meeting at Commons Beach. 
LTBC is also updating and reprinting maps for distribution and through a grant with Tahoe Fund, and currently soliciting businesses around the Lake to install 200 bike racks. LTBC also continues to provide free secured Bike Valet services at community events and will be kicking off their Bike Safe Lake Tahoe bicycle safety campaign in July. This campaign is funded from a $5/rider fee donated from America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride participants, totaling nearly $15,000. Bike the West produces this as a fully supported tour with rest stops, featuring food & beverage in various location and includes bike mechanics, first aid, lunch, SAG transport, etc. and manned by sponsoring non-profit organizations to include: Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra, Sierra Ski Education Foundation, Tahoe Regional Planning Association, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care, Rite of Passage and the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition.
Saturday, June 8 sees the longest running event of its type in the USA taking place in Ely.
GBTA is responsible for the building and maintenance of the non-motorized multi-use trails in the area.
All money raised during this bike event is used for grant matches and expenses associated with reinvesting into their trail systems.
This festival features their “Rose to Toads” Triple Crown Ride, Demos with shuttles, live music and brews.
June 28-30 Epic Rides, Carson City Off-Road mountain bike races. Featuring iconic trails and landmarks like 
The city is closing Carson Street to host three days of free live music, an industry expo and the spectator-friendly Fat Tire Criterium and Blinkyman bike ride on Friday evening – passing by the steps of both the Governor’s Mansion and the historic Nevada State Capitol building.
Whether racing the criterium or glowing into the night, all attending are encouraged to enjoy Carson City to its fullest.
June 29 Alta Alpina Cycling Club activities are up and running with weekend rides and their Thursday evening club racing series. 
This fully supported ride features a variety of ride distances and up to 200 miles. Online registration Here

The Tahoe East Shore Trail is being hurried to completion by a Tahoe Fund partnership of local, regional, state and federal agencies. Granite Construction is working hard to complete this project, so there will be traffic delays throughout the month of June.
The Tahoe East Shore Trail (formerly the Incline to Sand Harbor Bike Path) is a spectacular three-mile paved path that will provide a new opportunity for the community to experience the natural beauty of the eastern shore of Tahoe. The path will significantly improve the safety of those traveling down the NV 28 corridor, while creating an exceptional recreational amenity with added environmental benefits. With a 10-foot wide path, it meets the American Disability Act standards to ensure it is accessible to everyone to ride, walk or stroll.
Led by the Tahoe Transportation District, the project team identified more than $12 million dollars in public funding from various federal, state and Washoe County sources for construction. Through the generosity of our donors, the Tahoe Fund has met the goal of $750,000 to act as a match to access and leverage these public funds. The match triggered a cascade of public funding to fund the path and safety and stormwater improvements along the entire NV 28 corridor from Incline Village to Spooner Summit.
